http://www.dmm.org.uk An excellent site from Durham Mining Museum. It contains lots of information about the County’s mines, including opening and closure dates, production figures, accidents, etc.

http://www.therhondda.co.uk/index.html An interesting and informative site that provides a lot of contextual information about coal mining, and is illustrated by references to mining in the Rhondda Valley.

http://www.cmhrc.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ Ian Winstanley’s site provides an excellent collection of resources, information and statistics relating to coal-mining.

http://www.healeyhero.info/rescue/menu.htm A site run by Fionn Taylor and dedicated to the memory of Phillip Healey of Ilkeston mines rescue. It includes a lot of background information on coalmining, particularly the safety aspects.
