Beamish Open Air Museum is situated 12 miles north-west of Durham. It tells the story of the people of North-East England at two points in their history – 1825 and 1913.

York Museums Trust is an independent charitable trust which manages York Castle Museum, Yorkshire Museum and Gardens, York Art Gallery and York St Mary’s. The Castle Museum is one of Britains’ leading museums of everyday life. It is best known for its recreated Victorian street, Kirkgate.

 

DURHAM HERITAGE CENTRE: www.durhamheritagecentre.org.uk

Durham Heritage Centre and Museum tells the story of the City of Durham from medieval times to the present day. It is situated in the historic church of St. Mary-le-Bow, close to the World Heritage Site.

eRiding is an educational resources website run by East Riding of Yorkshire Council. It features over 18,000 free teaching and learning resources, including a very extensive collection of locally-sourced digital images.
