On 13 July 2007, over 250 young people from across the North East congregated on Palace Green to recreate the iconic image of the slave ship Brookes and learn about modern day slavery.
We have a number of resources about slavery ready for use in schools. We have now added some new resources designed for use on interactive whiteboards. More will be added in the coming months.
Durham University Library has a strong collection of material relating to slavery. This online exhibition highlights a number of issues using sources from our collection.
