Film and moving images

We live in a very visual age. As soon as something happens in the world pictures appear on our televisions, the internet and even on our mobile phones. We probably have more pictorial information about how we live today than at any other time in history. This revolution started with the invention of cameras capable of taking moving images at the end of the 19th century. Almost immediately, people started to use film to capture news as well as to provide entertainment. The result is that there is lots of evidence for historians to use.
